Stachowski Endorsed By Erie County Legislators

Six Erie County Legislators today joined Senator Bill Stachowski on the steps of Old County Hall to announce their endorsement of NYS Senator Bill Stachowski.  All six Democrats serve with Legislator Tim Kennedy on the county level.

“I offer my sincere thanks to each of these individuals who have chosen me over one of their own colleagues” Stachowski said.   “I’m sure their endorsement does not come easy, but it reflects the successes that we’ve had working together for our mutual constituents and all of Erie County.”

The six Legislators, Lynn Marinelli, Maria Whyte, Betty Jean Grant, Dan Kozub, Tom Loughran, and Tom Mazur all mentioned Stachowski’s determination and ability to get things done in Albany as reasons why they back his candidacy. Legislator Marinelli explained that her backing was based on the fact that “Senator Stachowski has the ability, the seniority, and the drive to get legislation approved in Albany that benefits all of the people of Erie County. He has helped us in county government with issues such as our bond sale for example. Marinelli went on to say that “Bill is the ‘go to’ guy for the unglamorous, grind it out functions that come with running a municipal government. He knows the players, the decision makers, and the people that can make things better for my constituents and all Erie County residents.

SENATOR WILLIAM STACHOWSKI AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES ANNOUNCE ‘MOVE OVER ACT’

Senator William T. Stachowski was joined by local law enforcement agencies representing the New York State Police, Cheektowaga Police, West Seneca Police, and Hamburg Police, to announce the Ambrose--Searles ‘Move Over Act’. The new law, named the "Ambrose-Searles Move Over Act"  (Chapter 387 of the Laws of 2010), requires highway motorists to move over or slow down when approaching a parked authorized emergency vehicle whose emergency lights are flashing. “The side of the road is dangerous enough for a law enforcement officer or emergency personnel, without having to worry about vehicle traffic from behind you” said Senator Bill Stachowski. “Police and emergency crews have to constantly assess very dangerous circumstances while traffic flies by just a few feet away. The “Move Over Act” forces drivers to do what should be common sense, and Move Over, allowing emergency personnel to focus on the job at hand.”

Successfully Protecting Your Identity With Stachowski Recycling Day

SENATOR STACHOWSKI SPONSORS FREE
RECYCLING / SHREDDING DAY

Senator William T. Stachowski sponsored a free Residential Computer and Electronics Recycling and Document Shredding Day on Saturday, August 28, 2010, in Cheektowaga. At times the three lines of cars ran the length of  the parking lot and in to the street, but Cheektowaga Police, who were also dealing with a local power outage, kept traffic along French Road moving. Crews from Regional Computer Recycling & Recovery and Shred-it, hustled to keep up with the constant flow of vehicles. More than five trucks were filled with discarded documents and electronics, as over 1,600 vehicles cruised through the recycling lines. “The overwhelming success of the first event showed the need for more of these events,” stated Senator Stachowski. “And this event in Cheektowaga has been far bigger. People came to Protect their Identity and shred their of personal documents,” said Senator Stachowski. “And, many more came for the protection of having their computer records and information properly disposed of, which is good for personal security and good for the environment too.” The free public recycling event, where personal documents can be disposed of safely in a secured environment, through document shredders, to certify proper disposal along with the recycling of unwanted or outdated electronic devises was sponsored by New York State Senator Bill Stachowski.
