Senator William Stachowski,Mayor Byron Brown, Kathleen Lynch, and other members of the Anti-Flipping Task Force (AFTF) released the Fourth Annual Report. In its fourth year, the AFTF focused its efforts on completing a multi-year foreclosure study, increasing foreclosure prevention as a means of reducing properties available for fraudulent flippers, and continuing to work with state agencies that investigate flipping. All park and recreation lovers are invited out to show support of Woodlawn Beach, and other state parks at the Rally for Woodlawn, a public response to Gov. Paterson’s proposed cuts. Senator William Stachowski joined local Tim Hortons owner Tina Laity, and members of her staff on February 11, 2010, at the Tim Hortons restaurant located at 1610 Walden Ave in Cheektowaga, to honor Tim Hortons with a proclamation for  25 successful years in the Buffalo area. Tim Hortons opened their first US location, in the Buffalo area, almost 25 years ago to the date, and now has over 550 across the country.

Senator Bill Stachowski is joined by Assemblyman Sam Hoyt, Roaming Buffaloes' Jeff Empric, and Buffalo Rising's Newell Nussbaumer, on the Sky Way off-ramp, where they announced the Powder Keg winter celebration. The off-ramp will be closed and used as a sledding hill. "I've seen cars slide down that ramp," joked Senator Stachowski,"but this will be the first time to see sleds and tubes." The Powder Keg will feature: ice skating, snow-shoeing, an ice maze, igloo building and tubing down the Sky Way, on February 27 & 28.

Senator Stachowski & Mayor Polanski Announce Lackawanna Senior Center Project Completion

New York State Senator William T. Stachowski and City of Lackawanna Mayor Norman L. Polanski Jr. visited the Lackawanna Senior Center today, to announce the completion of a $200,000 building improvement project. The capital improvements were made possible through a NYS Grant, secured by Senator Stachowski, to upgrade the center’s HVAC, roof, parking lot,and add an emergency generator, to better meet the needs of Lackawanna’s seniors.
