Senator Stachowski Joins The Belle Center, Americorps, The Buffalo Dream Center & Feed The Children to Feed 1,200 Westside Families

AMERICANS FEEDING AMERICANS- Senator Stachkowski was on hand to join with The Belle Center, Americorps, The Buffalo Dream Center, and the inter-national organization, Feed The Children for Community Day.

Feed The Children scheduled a stop in Buffalo, 1 of 30 cities chosen for the distribution of 3 tractor trailer loads of pre-packed food and toiletries to be given to 1,200 families.

The event took place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m Wednesday, March 31st, 2010, on Busti Street, which was blocked off between Maryland and Hudson.

The Buffalo Dream Center is a partnering agency with Feed The Children, and provided vouchers to 1,200 families on the West Side, one of the poorest neighborhoods in Buffalo, for the pre-packed donations.

The Belle Center and Buffalo AmeriCorps also partnered to add direct impact service to the Buffalo community through a massive neighborhood debris clean-up and more.

Michelle Johns from The Buffalo Dream Center states “Through these partnerships our goal is to show the residents that we care about their well-being.”

This event is a part of Feed The Children’s nationwide campaign to raise awareness to hunger in our nation.
