SENATOR STACHOWSKI SPONSORS RESOLUTION TO HONOR POLISH AMERICAN CONGRESS IN STATE SENATE

Senator William T. Stachowski (D-C, 58th District) honored members of the western New York division of the Polish American Congress Monday with a Senate resolution proclaiming April 20, 2009, as Polish American Congress Day in the State of New York.

Joined by members of the Polish American Congress from across the state, the western New York members included, Director Dina Szymanski, MiraSzramel, Principal of Msgr Adamski Polish School of Buffalo, Father Thaddeus Bocianowski and Pastor of St. Adalbert’s Basilica in Buffalo.

“It was truly a privilege to sponsor this resolution in the State Senate,” said Senator Stachowski. “The Resolution is particularly prominent because it focuses on the Polish American Congress itself and recognizes its important and impressive achievements both nationally and internationally. I am extremely proud to boast of its many civic, educational and cultural programs designed to further not only the knowledge of Polish history, language and culture, but to recognize the countless contributions made to this great county by Polish Americans.”


The Polish American Congress is a federation of over 3,000 Polish American organizations and clubs, ranging from national fraternal benefit societies, such as the Polish National Alliance, Polish Women's Alliance, Polish Roman Catholic Union, Polish Falcons and others, including veteran, cultural, professional, religious and social associations and represents at least 10 million Americans of Polish descent and origin. With 41 State Divisions and Chapters, the organization exists in 23 states.
