Senate Majority leader Malcolm Smith today met with Senator’s William Stachowski (D58th), Senator Antoine Thompson (D60th) and Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown to discuss upstate economic issues. “Senator Malcolm Smith’s visit to Buffalo demonstrates his commitment to upstate and Western New York,” stated Senator Stachowski. “This area is in desperate need of revitalization and I intend to use my new position as Chairman of the Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business Committee to help in that regard.” “With the Democrats now controlling the Senate I intend on being the point person for Mayor Brown and other local officials in getting their message to Albany,” added Senator Stachowski. Senator Malcolm Smith first met with the two local senators and Mayor Brown and then stressed his commitment to the area. “This is a very clear expression and clear commitment to making sure that the upstate economy is back on track," stated Smith. |
