Senator Stachowski Awards Buffalo Boys & Girls Club $50,000

Senator William Stachowski (D 58th) today announced the awarding of a $50,000 grant to the Buffalo Boys & Girls Club for their "Bridging the Gap" program. Senator Stachowski made the announcement in the basment of the Buffalo Boys & Girls Club facility on Tamarack Street in Buffalo with B&G Club Executive Director Diane Rowe.

Senator Stachowski’s support is imperative to the success of our programming at the Southside Clubhouse. The Senator is proud of his involvement in the program saying “"It's an honor to be a part of the Boys & Girls Club of Buffalo "Bridging the Gap" program. It is gratifying to know that the $50,000 grant that I was able to award to the Southside Clubhouse will help purchase educational supplies, provide tutors and certified teachers to aid disadvantaged youths achieve higher academic achievement. The Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo have helped more youth in our community than we will ever realize and I'm happy to provide them with much needed financial assistance."

“Bridging the Gap” is an idea unique to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo to help our youth be high achievers in school. Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo serves over 8500 youth between the ages of 6-18 annually, a majority of which attend a Buffalo Public School, a district that has ranked last out of 97 WNY districts by Business First Magazine.
