November 2, 2009

Buffalo, NY - The New York State Senate lead by Finance Committee Chair Carl Kruger, and William Stachowski, Economic Development and Small Business Chair (Buffalo - 58th District), conducted a public hearing in Buffalo to review the fiscal consequences of the Governor's deficit closing proposals on local services and programs. Thw Senate's four public hearings mark the first time that the budgetary process has been taken out of Albany and brought in to communities across the state. " This hearing is critical to soliccit firsthand testimony from local residents and businesses on exactly how this current budget deficit affects our area," said Senator Bill Stachowski. "As we work hard to develop effective strategies to address the state's fiscal problems, it is critical to emphasize the immediate needs of Western New Yorkers."
